Jeff Mack was born in Syracuse, NY. He studied fine art and writing at
SUNY Oswego, Syracuse University, and Scuola Lorenzo De Medici in
Florence, Italy. After working for five years as a decorative painter,
he began illustrating children's books in 2001. Since then he has
illustrated fifteen books, including James Howe's Bunnicula and Friends
series (Simon and Schuster, 2004-2007) and Eve Bunting's Hurry! Hurry!
(Harcourt, 2007). He is the author and illustrator of Hush Little Polar
Bear (Roaring Brook, 2008). His paintings and drawings have been
exhibited around New York State and Western Massachusetts, including
the 2000 and 2002 Everson Museum of Art Biennials and the Green Street
Café in Northampton, MA. At home in the Pioneer Valley, he continues
to write and illustrate books, paint murals and talk with school groups
about his work.
