About Astrid
Astrid Sheckels is an award winning children's book illustrator who works primarily in watercolor. Her publishers include Islandport Press, Twin Lights Publishers, Random House Kids, Premiere, and Bangarang Books. Besides illustration, Astrid also paints watercolor landscapes and commissioned portraits, plus developing a growing line of greeting cards. Astrid maintains her studio in the rolling hills of Greenfield Massachusetts, though her Scandinavian roots are evident in her artwork. She describes her style as “a mix of classic realism and whimsy”.
